HCPSS respects the value of all religious observances for students, staff, and families in Howard County.  As we were reviewing the events calendar for Thunder HIll Elementary School and to ensure fidelity to the Religious Observance calendar, we identified that our Reading Night is in conflict with the observances of Diwali on October 19.  Therefore, our Reading Night is canceled this Thursday  night.

As a result, we will be looking for a new date and will communicate this information with you.  We appreciate everyone’s flexibility in allowing us to ensure that we are remaining sensitive to our community members who are observing religious holidays this week.
