Thunder Hill Elementary Change in Absence Reporting System as of 9/11/09
This year, in addition to monitoring student attendance, schools are being asked to collect more information about each studentís illness as part of the Health Department's tracking of influenza-like illness in Howard County.
Below is the procedure for reporting all student absences: Contact the school on the first day of the absence and provide the following information:
* Your child's name
* The reason for the absence and/or illness symptoms
We need to know if your child is experiencing symptoms of influenza-like illness, specifically the following: 100 F or greater cough sore throat
Please contact the school using one of the following methods:

If your child is absent from school and we do not receive notification from you by email or telephone, a school staff member will contact you by telephone for verification of the reason for your childís absence from school.
